Job summary

Riverside Smithfield Hospital in Smithfield, VA is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to perform technical procedures across hematology, chemistry, serology, blood bank, urinalysis and microbiology. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of official US military 50-week medical laboratory procedures training course required.
• Military enlisted Medical Laboratory Specialist (Lab Tech) preferred or equivalent Associates degree in MLT/CLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical procedures in Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis and Microbiology.
• Ensure QA/QI guidelines are followed and documentation is accurate.
• Assist in training new staff and students; may perform phlebotomy as applicable.
• Maintain equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance; manage instrument troubleshooting.
• Support accreditation readiness (CAP, DNV, CLIA) and comply with safety regulations.
