Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field is required.
• ASCP (or equivalent) certification; eligible for certification and must maintain active certification if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs all clinical testing in assigned department.
• Records and reports test results accurately and promptly.
• Performs and interprets quality control testing following established guidelines.
• Maintains a high level of quality assurance.
• Follows Universal Precautions and safety procedures.
• Consults with supervisor/manager when criteria for decisions are not present; acts to determine final decisions in absence of supervisor.
• Coordinates evaluation of new reagents, procedures, and equipment as requested.
• Performs routine and specialized maintenance of laboratory equipment.
