Job summary

Mount Carmel, a member of Trinity Health, is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform phlebotomy and laboratory testing, ensuring accurate, rapid reporting and understanding the clinical significance of results.

The role requires a Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology or related field, and ASCP certification or eligibility. This full-time position includes comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance where applicable.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• ASCP certification or equivalent; eligible for certification.
• Active certification required if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs all clinical testing in assigned department.
• Records and reports test results accurately and promptly.
• Performs and interprets quality control testing following established guidelines.
• Maintains a high level of quality assurance.
• Practices established safety procedures, including Universal Precautions and proper use of safety equipment.
• Able to recognize a problem by following prescribed strategies and make necessary corrections.
• Where no present criteria for decisions are available, will consult with supervisor/manager.
• In absence of supervisor/manager, will act to determine final decision.
• Coordinates and evaluates new reagents, procedures and equipment as requested by supervisor/manager.
• Performs routine scheduled and specialized maintenance of laboratory equipment.
