Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of lab testing principles, quality control, and specimen handling.
• Proficiency with LIS platforms and data entry.
• Follow established protocols and regulatory guidelines (CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission).

Responsibilities

• Performs waived, moderate, and high-complexity tests; reviews results for accuracy.
• Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots lab equipment; performs preventive maintenance.
• Documents results in LIS; reports critical results per procedures.
• Collects blood specimens via venipuncture and capillary techniques with proper labeling.
• Participates in training of students and new personnel.

Education

Associate degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology

Military Medical Laboratory Procedures course (50 weeks) with MOS Medical Laboratory Specialist
