White Rock Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a compassionate Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our community hospital. The MLT performs routine and specialized lab tests to aid diagnosis and treatment, operates and maintains equipment, and ensures quality control.

You will work in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and urinalysis, report results to physicians, and participate in safety programs and training of new staff. Shift includes weekends/holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.
• Proficiency in LIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
• ASCP/AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory tests in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and urinalysis.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Collect, prepare, and analyze specimens following established laboratory protocols.
• Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results through strict quality control measures.
• Record and report test results to physicians and healthcare providers promptly.
• Maintain laboratory safety by adhering to OSHA, CLIA, and other regulatory standards (COLA).
• Participate in proficiency testing and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Manage inventory and ensure adequate supply of laboratory reagents and materials.
• Assist in training new staff and students as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and laboratory documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
