Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to perform vital clinical laboratory procedures for disease diagnosis and treatment.

You will handle waived and moderate tests, operate instrumentation, and ensure accuracy under leadership, maintaining safety and quality across microbiology, hematology, chemistry, and more. Requirements include an Associate of Science in biology or chemistry or military medical lab training, with preferred AMT/ASCP/AAB

Qualifications

• Associates of Science in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA, upon hire
• High School GED General Studies completed an official military medical laboratory course and held the military enlisted occupational speciality of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Lab Technician), upon hire
• High School Graduate General Studies completed an official military medical laboratory course and held the military enlisted occupational speciality of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Lab Technician), upon hire
• AMT, ASCP, or AAB certifications preferred upon hire

Responsibilities

• Align lab test procedures on patient specimens per SOPs to ensure accurate reporting
• Provide patient care through clinical correlation of results and rapid notification of critical values
• Ensure automated equipment is operational through maintenance and calibration
• Perform calibration and quality control procedures and maintain records
• Perform proficiency testing and review results with lab leaders
• Assist in evaluation and validation of new procedures and equipment
