Schedule & Shift:

Per Diem, Day shift (7am - 3:30pm)

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Microbiology Supervisor and guidance of a Medical Technologist, performs routine and specialized diagnostic tests on environmental, blood, and body fluid specimens as prescribed by physicians or healthcare providers. Responsible for processing, analyzing specimens, reporting results, and maintaining instrumentation.

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Education: Associate degree in Microbiology, Biology, Basic Sciences, or Medical Laboratory Science required; or graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science program.
  2. Experience: Minimum one year of laboratory or Microbiology Department experience required. New graduates are considered to have equivalent experience.
  3. Licensure/Certification: ASCP or NCA certification preferred; candidates should be eligible and expected to pass within 6 months of employment.
  4. Skills: Knowledge of laboratory methods, microbiology principles, automated/manual equipment, manual dexterity, problem-solving, quality control, interpretation of instructions, communication, computer proficiency, and confidentiality.
