Job summary

Labcorp in Raleigh, NC seeks a Laboratory Technician to join our team. The role involves validating specimen quality, executing SOP-driven procedures and operating laboratory instruments to deliver accurate patient results.

Responsibilities include QC, reagent evaluation, data entry, and collaborating with teams in a high-volume setting. A relevant associate degree and lab testing experience are required, with certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a chemical or biological science, CLT or medical technology.
• 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience or a MLT degree.
• Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits may meet education requirements per CLIA standards.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.

Education

Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology

3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience or a MLT degree
