Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager, performs laboratory testing in various sections of the laboratory, conducts control testing, and initiates troubleshooting for problem areas. The following statements describe the principal functions of the job and are not an exhaustive list of all work requirements.
Education: A.S. degree in MLT / B.S. degree in Medical Technology, or in a chemical, physical, or biological science, with clinical training in a program approved by ASCP.
License/Registration or certification: Registered by ASCP preferred.
Additional skills/abilities: Competency in laboratory technology components as appropriate. Verbal communication skills for instructing patients and clients. Numerical ability for calculations. Visual acuity, including color perception, for performing specific tests.
