Job summary

Huntsville Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented lab support technician to receive and process requisitions and specimens, and to order specified tests according to standard procedures. You will respond to phone requests and enter lab data into the computer, ensuring accuracy and speed in a high-volume environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with an associate degree and chemistry/biology coursework preferred, and MLA certification is desirable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree with chemistry and biology credits preferred.
• MLA certification from a recognized credentialing agency preferred.
• Previous work experience strongly preferred; keyboarding 40 wpm preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to the lab by receiving/processing requisitions and specimens and ordering specified lab tests according to SOP.
• Responds to phone requests and enters lab test data into computer.
