Job summary

Fairview Range is seeking a Medical Lab Technician to join the Clinic Department in Hibbing, MN. The role involves performing waived to high-complexity testing per SOP, collecting specimens, verifying identities, and ensuring quality control.

The MLT will support multiple clinics within the Range System. The position requires an allied lab degree and CLIA/ASCP‑type certification or eligibility, with potential travel to Hibbing, Mountain Iron, and Nashwauk.

Qualifications

• Associate or higher degree in a related laboratory field with practicum or equivalent.
• Associate or higher degree in chemical/biological/clinical lab science or medical laboratory technology.
• 60 semester hours with biology and chemistry; transcript required.
• Completion of a 50-week U.S. military medical lab training with degree/credits.

Responsibilities

• Obtain specimens and perform waived, moderate, or high complexity testing per SOP.
• Collect and process specimens with proper technique.
• Verify patient identity and specimen integrity.
• Operate lab instrumentation and information systems per procedure.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and quality control records.
• Mentor new staff and students; complete training checklists.
