Job summary

MultiCare Health System in Tacoma, WA seeks a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) to perform diverse lab tasks from patient testing to quality control and data analysis.

Responsibilities include receiving and identifying specimens, assessing suitability, preparing reagents and performing instrument maintenance. Required: associate degree, MLT certification (ASCP) CM or ASCP, plus relevant lab experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree.
• Current Certification of Medical Laboratory Technician, MLT (ASCP)CM. or MLT (ASCP)
• 50 week military program in lieu of associate’s degree may be accepted.
• Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist Certification or Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist eligible (if duties will include phlebotomy)
• Minimum one (1) year of previous laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• You will receive specimens, establish and maintain positive identification of specimens
• You will determine suitability of specimen; may reject specimen
• You will acquire/prepare reagents as needed
• You will perform instrument maintenance and calibration
