Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for day shift (6:30am-3pm) with rotating holidays and weekends. The role involves performing waived to moderately complex testing across hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation, microbiology and immunology, with responsibilities including quality control and adherence to lab policies.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current and valid State License where required.
• ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.
• Associate degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or MLT-related coursework.
• Minimum 3 years of hospital laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived, highly and moderately complex testing per CLIA guidance.
• Adhere to lab procedures for collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of results.
• Maintain instruments and equipment daily/weekly/monthly as needed.
• Review accuracy of patient results before reporting.
• May serve as Lead Tech in supervisor's absence.
• Support safety, infection control and emergency preparedness in the lab.
