Job summary

The Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) seeks a dedicated professional to support high-quality laboratory testing in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include preparing specimens, performing routine tests, and ensuring quality control throughout the workflow.

Candidates should hold a BS in Medical Technology or related field, with ASCP BOC or equivalent certification preferred, or obtain certification within the first year.

Qualifications

• Education: BS in Medical Technology or related science; experience not required.
• Certification: ASCP BOC or equivalent, or certification to be obtained within the first year of employment.
• Education: Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology; certification must be obtained within the first year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for testing and perform routine laboratory tests.
• Conduct quality control and maintenance procedures.
• Recognize and troubleshoot computer data problems in the lab.
• Communicate technical information to medical staff and laypersons.

Job Description Summary

Supports high quality laboratory testing in a clinical laboratory. Prepares specimens for testing, performs routine laboratory tests, performs quality control and maintenance procedures, recognizes computer data problems, troubleshoots laboratory instruments, communicates technical information to medical and lay persons, assists with training laboratory personnel in routine procedures, participates in continuing education, and recognizes normal and abnormal values.
