Job summary

Mount Carmel Health seeks a 2nd/3rd Shift Supervisor, Laboratory. The role supervises daily lab activities, ensures specimens are collected and tested per policy, and drives QA compliance. A MLS/Baccalaureate or MLT/Associate degree is required, with supervision experience preferred and ASCP certification desired for advanced roles.

The supervisor will mentor staff, coordinate cross‑sectional work, and travel between sites as needed while maintaining a culture of safety and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervising laboratory sections or shifts.
• Minimum of two years relevant section experience preferred.
• Certification in laboratory field required for off shift and site supervisors; ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of assigned laboratory sections or entire shift.
• Ensure specimens are collected, received, tested and reported according to policy and QA standards.
• Develop colleagues, supervise performance, and coordinate workload across the department.
