Job summary

Hillcrest HealthCare System in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist for day shift, full-time. The MLS performs clinical laboratory testing, ensures quality control, and supports patient care and diagnosis.

The role requires a Baccalaureate or Associate Degree in Medical Technology or related science, ASCP certification, and maintained credentials with experience in a clinical lab. Training and proficiency testing participation are included.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate or Associate Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a chemical, physical or biological science.
• ASCP or equivalent certification required.
• Certification in a specific area (e.g., M(ASCP), H(ASCP), C(ASCP)) must be maintained without lapse.
• Previous clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Technology, CLS or MLS.
• Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and special laboratory procedures, quality control and preventative maintenance.
• Handle inventory control, minor equipment repairs, and statistical compilation.
• Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, laboratory education, new employee training, and proficiency testing.

• Previous clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Scientist within a clinical laboratory.
• Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles.
