Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist for an evening shift in Tulsa, OK. You will perform clinical laboratory testing to support patient care and diagnosis, ensure quality control, and participate in education and proficiency testing.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Medical Technology or related science, with ASCP certification and current knowledge of lab techniques. Prior clinical lab experience is required.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate or Associate Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a chemical, physical or biological science.
• ASCP or equivalent certification; certification must be maintained without lapse.
• Certification progression if lapse may downgrade to Medical Laboratory Scientist (non-certified).
• Previous clinical laboratory experience as MLS/MLT/CLS in a clinical lab.
• Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and special laboratory procedures, quality control, preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs.
• Inventory control and statistical compilation.
• Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, laboratory education, new employee training, and proficiency testing when assigned.

Responsibilities

• The Medical Lab Scientist functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for the performance of clinical laboratory testing that pertains to patient care and diagnosis.
• This position performs routine and special laboratory procedures, quality control, preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs, inventory control, and statistical compilation.
• Will additionally participates in quality assurance, performance improvement, laboratory education, new employee training, and proficiency testing when assigned.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Baccalaureate or Associate Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a chemical, physical or biological science.
• ASCP or equivalent.
  • Certification within a specific area, i.e. M(ASCP), H(ASCP), C(ASCP) qualifies.
  • Certification must be maintained without lapse during employment.
    • If certification does lapse, job will be downgraded to Medical Laboratory Scientist (non-certified) until certification is reinstated.
• Previous clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Scientist within a clinical laboratory.
• Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles.
