Ardent Health Services in Tulsa, OK is seeking an evening shift, full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join Hillcrest Hospital South. The position focuses on high-quality lab testing and patient care within a 180-bed acute-care setting.

As a MLS, you will perform routine and specialized laboratory procedures, ensure quality control, and deliver timely, accurate results. You will also participate in QA, mentor staff, uphold infection control, and collaborate with care providers to

Competenze

• Baccalaureate or associate degree in medical laboratory science or closely related field.
• ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Previous clinical laboratory experience in a hospital setting preferred.

• Functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for the performance of clinical laboratory testing that pertains to patient care and diagnosis.
• Performs routine and special laboratory procedures, quality control, preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs, inventory control, and statistical compilation.
• Participates in quality assurance, performance improvement, laboratory education, new employee training and proficiency testing when assigned.
• Displays technical expertise necessary to ensure timely and accurate results of laboratory procedures.
• Ensure specimens are obtained and processed in accordance with laboratory guidelines.
• Demonstrate proper communication skills to relate pertinent data or information about the patient or laboratory sample to appropriate care provider.
• Supports organizational priorities to maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Exhibits problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and evaluate critical laboratory results.

Job Requirements:

• Baccalaureate Degree or Associates Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technician, or a chemical, physical or biological science degree.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• ASCP or equivalent. Certification within a specific area, i.e. M(ASCP), H(ASCP), C(ASCP) qualifies.
• Previous clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Scientist within a clinical laboratory.
