Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Lab Technician (MLT) for a day shift, full-time position in Pittsburg, TX. The incumbent will perform routine and specialized laboratory procedures, ensure quality control, and support maintenance and inventory tasks to aid patient care.

The role requires a Baccalaureate or Associate degree in Medical Technology or related science and ASCP or equivalent certification, with knowledge of LC techniques and principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in a relevant science field.
• ASCP or equivalent certification required or maintained during employment.
• Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and special laboratory procedures, quality control, preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs, inventory control, and statistical compilation.
• Assist in quality assurance and performance improvement tasks, new employee training and proficiency testing as assigned.

Education

Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a chemical, physical or biological science

Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician studies or a chemical, physical or biological science associates degree

Responsibilities

• The Medical Laboratory Scientist functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for the performance of clinical laboratory testing that pertains to patient care and diagnosis.


• This position performs routine and special laboratory procedures, quality control, preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs, inventory control, and statistical compilation.


• Will additionally participate in the quality assurance and performance improvement tasks, new employee training and proficiency testing as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a chemical, physical or biological science.
  
  
  
  • OR Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician studies or a chemical, physical or biological science associates degree.
  
  
  
  


• ASCP or equivalent.
  
  
  
  • Certification within a specific area, i.e. M(ASCP), H(ASCP), C(ASCP) qualifies.
  
  
  • Certification must be maintained without lapse during employment.
    
    
    
    • If certification does lapse, job will be downgraded to Medical Laboratory Scientist (non-certified) until certification is reinstated.
