Job summary

Metabolon, Inc. seeks a Medical Lab Scientist to join the Platform Analysis team in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The role focuses on routine LC-MS testing, data collection, QC, and contributing to continuous improvement in a high-throughput clinical laboratory.

The candidate should have a related Bachelor’s degree and 1–2 years of clinical laboratory experience, with a strong emphasis on precision, safety, and compliance. Onsite work is required, with standard weekday hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a physical, biological, or related science.
• 1–2 years of experience in a clinical testing, regulated laboratory, or high-throughput lab environment.
• Working knowledge of chromatography, mass spectrometry, and laboratory automation.
• Experience applying technical knowledge to independently plan and execute complex lab activities.
• Strong attention to detail with high quality, safety, and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare solutions and standards for instrument operation per established protocols.
• Operate and maintain LC-MS instruments and perform system checks.
• Diagnose instrument problems and arrange external repair as needed.
• Oversee data collection and review data quality.
• Document work in the LIMS and provide QC reports.
• Contribute to SOP revisions and continuous improvement programs.
• Work onsite with weekly Monday–Friday schedule.
