Schedule: Full Time

The role you’ll contribute:

The Medical Laboratory Scientist II performs various laboratory procedures in assigned areas as licensed/certified. Work involves analytical testing of blood and human biological specimens, requiring a moderate to high level of knowledge and expertise. Depending on the department, various pre- and post-analytical tasks are included, and on-call hours may be required. Follows laboratory policies and procedures; maintains quality control practices. Actively participates in customer service and maintains respectful relationships.

• Performs pre-analytical activities, including equipment maintenance, inventory control, specimen collection, and cleaning.
• Performs tests and analytical procedures accurately, adhering to standards and participating in proficiency testing.
• Performs post-analytical activities, reporting results in accordance with procedures, and provides support for all age groups.
• Provides orientation and training to new staff and students, acting as a preceptor when needed, and documents training appropriately.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical, biological sciences, or related field.
• FLORIDA MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST LICENSE.
