Schedule: Part Time Day Variable Hours

Shift: Necessities 5-9pm weekdays (possible weekends when needed)

• AdventHealth Winter Garden has served West Orange County since 2015 and will expand with a new inpatient tower opening summer 2022, adding new ancillary and clinical spaces including Laboratory services.

• The expansion aims to provide comprehensive care with a dedicated team focused on faith-based, mission-driven service to the growing community.

The role you’ll contribute: The Medical Laboratory Scientist II performs various laboratory procedures in assigned areas, involving analytical testing of blood and biological specimens. The role requires theoretical and practical expertise, with responsibilities including pre- and post-analytical work, maintaining quality control, and adhering to laboratory policies. On-call hours may be required. The role emphasizes outstanding customer service and respectful relationships.

• Conduct tests and analytical procedures accurately, adhering to standards and participating in proficiency testing.
• Report results, including abnormal findings, and support clinical staff with technical guidance.
• Provide orientation and training to new staff and students, acting as preceptor when needed.
• Guide technicians, resolve customer service issues, and facilitate workflow as necessary.

Qualifications:

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory sciences, or related fields.
• In licensure states, appropriate Laboratory Licensure.
• In non-licensure states, national certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist (e.g., ASCP, AAB, AMT), unless grandfathered per state requirements.
