Job summary

Lone Peak Hospital, a of HCA Healthcare network, is seeking a Medical Technologist to support Laboratory Services. The role requires performing standard lab procedures with independence and acting as a resource to staff.

Color-blind testing and quality control duties are part of daily responsibilities. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or MLS, certification or registry eligibility within 6 months, and at least 6 months of acute care lab experience.

Qualifications

• Certified or registry eligible within 6 months of hire (ASCP, NCA, or AMT).
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (MT), MLS or related sciences with practical training.
• Minimum 6 months experience as Medical Technologist in an acute care hospital lab preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication; able to operate department equipment; color-blind testing required.
• Supervision: works under Director of Laboratory Services with independent duties.
• Orientation period: minimum two weeks; may be longer per experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard laboratory procedures with minimal technical supervision.
• Oversee staff, report test results, maintain policies, procedures and quality control.
• Participate in CQI activities and perform phlebotomy duties as needed.
