Job summary

Desert View Hospital is a 25-bed acute care facility delivering safe laboratory analysis and patient-centered care in a rural setting. The Medical Technologist will analyze specimens and report results per protocol, supporting Lab Technologists and staff.

The role requires Nevada licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, ASCP or equivalent certification within 6 months, plus BLS from the American Heart Association.

Qualifications

• Education: B.S. Degree in Medical Technology (ASCP) or equivalent as defined by CLIA’88.
• Experience: 3 years experience as Medical Technologist preferred.
• Technical Skills: General bench tech skills required to provide coverage in all modalities.
• License/Certification: Nevada State License as Clinical Laboratory Technologist. ASCP or equivalent board registration/education required upon hire. New CLS graduates must receive certification within 6 months of hire. Must obtain Nevada license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the analysis of laboratory specimens and subsequent result reporting according to laboratory protocol and procedures.
• Acts as a resource for Medical Laboratory Technicians and Lab Assistants.
• Supports and assists Lead Medical Technologist.
