Job summary

Lafayette Regional Health Center, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) PRN to perform a range of laboratory tests across chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology in a hospital setting in Lexington, Missouri.

The role requires qualification by CLIA/ASCP with relevant certifications and a commitment to accurate, quality results and adherence to testing procedures. Experience is preferred; certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in laboratory science or related science required or grandfathered as a medical technologist by CLIA 88.
• Certification or eligibility: MT/ASCP/CLS/MLS or equivalent, or BB/C/I/H/M (ASCP) certification.
• Certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical, bacteriological, serological, and microscopic procedures in one or more laboratory sections.
• Produce accurate results in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology and other areas as designated.
• Maintain quality results by running standards and controls, calibrating equipment, and monitoring quality control measures and protocols.
