Job summary

NOVA is seeking a part-time CONTENT TUTOR – MEDICAL LABORATORY ASSISTANT to support students at the NOVA campus. The role involves tutoring, aiding faculty and staff, and coordinating study groups to improve academic outcomes.

The ideal candidate has prior tutoring and medical laboratory assistant experience, plus an MLA credential or AMT certification. The position may require occasional evenings and weekend coordination with supervisors, and the college emphasizes inclusive excellence across

Qualifications

Experience with one-on-one and group tutoring.
Experience as a medical laboratory assistant.
Earned credential in medical laboratory assisting or related health science field.

Responsibilities

Provide tutoring assistance to students as needed.
Assist ASC Manager in forming specialized study groups as needed.
Assign software programs to assist students in various academic programs.
Distribute information leading to academic improvement.
Consult with faculty regarding center’s resources.
Research current list of useful Internet resources for student and faculty use.
Work closely with Tutoring Services Coordinator, academic discipline faculty and staff, and Student Services faculty and staff to provide optimal services to students.
Provide tutoring services orientation for any willing faculty member.
