Job summary

NOVA is seeking a Content Tutor in Health Information Management to support healthcare coursework through tutoring and study-skills instruction. You will collaborate with the ASC Manager, form study groups, assign software tools, and connect students with faculty resources to drive academic improvement.

The role requires engagement with Tutoring Services, coordination across departments, and flexibility in a mixed classroom setting. Some duties may extend to additional related tasks.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to assist undergraduate learners with course content.
• Experience with one-on-one and/or group tutoring in health information management.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring assistance to students as needed.
• Assist ASC Manager in forming specialized study groups as need arises.
• Assign software programs to assist students in various academic programs.
• Distribute information leading to academic improvement.
• Consult with faculty regarding center’s resources.
• Research current list of useful Internet resources for student and faculty use.
• Work closely with Tutoring Services Coordinator, academic discipline faculty and staff, and Student Services faculty and staff to provide optimal services to students.
• Provide tutoring services orientation for any willing faculty member.
