Job summary

NOVA seeks a CONTENT TUTOR – HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT to support students and collaborate with faculty at the Fairfax County site. The role involves tutoring, forming study groups, and guiding use of software resources for health information management programs.

The tutor will work varied hours, including evenings, and coordinate with the Tutoring Services team to enhance student outcomes.

Qualifications

• One-on-one and/or group tutoring experience.
• Tutoring/teaching experience in health information management.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring assistance to students as needed.
• Assist ASC Manager in forming specialized study groups as needed.
• Assign software programs to assist students in various academic programs.
• Distribute information leading to academic improvement.
• Consult with faculty regarding center’s resources.
• Research current useful Internet resources for students and faculty.
• Collaborate with Tutoring Services Coordinator and staff to provide optimal services.
• Provide tutoring services orientation for any willing faculty member.
