Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Laboratory Specimen Processor to receive, accession, and process specimens, ensuring accurate data entry and timely reporting of results in a hospital lab.

Responsibilities include handling telephone inquiries, assisting with LIS entries and HIS registrations, supporting testing in microbiology and blood bank areas as applicable, and helping train new staff while maintaining equipment and following policies.

Responsibilities

• Receive, accession and process specimens to ensure timely reporting of results.
• Handle telephone inquiries and assist with general lab operations.
• Perform registration in HIS as needed and assist with testing.
• Maintain hardware and equipment and ensure accurate data entry in laboratory systems.
• Assist with training new employees and adhere to department policies.
• Support blood bank, microbiology or pathology tasks as applicable.
