Job summary

The Pen Bay Hospital Lab is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Assistant I to support pre-analytical tasks including specimen collection, phlebotomy, specimen processing, and order entry. This role serves as a liaison across patient settings within MaineHealth.

Eligible applicants may receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus, prorated for part-time or per diem schedules. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with MLA certification and valid driver’s license as possible requirements.

Summary:

Experienced, qualified applicants are eligible for a $5,000 Sign-on Bonus.This bonus will be prorated forPart Timeor Per Diem positions.Please note this bonus is not available to current MaineHealth employees or prior employees that have been separated for less than 6 months.

The Medical Laboratory Assistant I role represents the organization in all patient settings serving as a liaison and performs key pre-analytical functions, such as specimen collection, phlebotomy, specimen processing, and order entry.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: PBT/MLA from the ASCP, AMT, or NHA preferred. Valid Driver's License may be required if role involves travel to other work sites/locations.
  3. Experience: Technical training as a Phlebotomist through NorDx Phlebotomy School or equivalent program required.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.

The pay range for this position is $19.87to $23.75 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
