Job summary

NorDx, a MaineHealth organization, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant II to perform key pre-analytical functions including specimen collection and processing. The role supports patient care across settings and ensures coordination with the lab operations.

Eligible applicants may receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus, prorated for part-time or per diem roles. This position requires phlebotomy, specimen management, and appropriate certifications; travel to other sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• License/Certifications: PBT/MLA from ASCP, AMT, or NHA preferred; valid driver’s license may be required if travel is involved.
• Experience: One year of experience in Phlebotomy and Specimen Management required.
• May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and other pre-analytical tasks such as specimen collection and processing.
• Assist with specialty testing, order entry, waived testing, and quality control.
• Serve as liaison across patient settings and support the laboratory workflow.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Experience: One year of experience in Phlebotomy and Specimen Management required.

The pay range for this position is $20.27to $24.36 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
