Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant II for the NorDx Laboratory Support team. The role focuses on pre-analytical tasks including specimen collection, processing, and order entry to support accurate testing workflows.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, and ASCP/AMT/NHA MLA certification is preferred. One year of phlebotomy experience is required, with potential travel to other sites as needed.

• PBT/MLA from ASCP, AMT, or NHA preferred; valid driver’s license may be required for travel.
• One year of experience in phlebotomy and specimen management required.
• May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.

• Handle order entry, waived testing, and quality control tasks.
• Represent the organization in patient settings and support clinical staff.

The Medical Laboratory Assistant II role represents the organization in all patient settings serving as a liaison and performs key pre-analytical functions, such as specimen collection phlebotomy, specimen processing, specialty testing, order entry, waived testing, quality control, and specialty collection.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• License/Certifications: PBT/MLA from the ASCP, AMT, or NHA preferred. Valid Driver's License may be required if role involves travel to other work sites/locations.
• Experience: One year of experience in Phlebotomy and Specimen Management required.
• Additional Skills/Requirements Required: May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.

The pay range for this position is $20.27to $24.36 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
