Job summary

MaineHealth's NorDx laboratory is hiring a Medical Laboratory Assistant I to support specimen collection, processing, and order entry. This role acts as a liaison in patient settings and contributes to the pre-analytical workflow.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • License/Certifications: PBT/MLA from ASCP, AMT, or NHA preferred.
  • Experience: Technical training as a Phlebotomist through NorDx Phlebotomy School or an equivalent program required.
  • Driver's license required.
  • May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform specimen collection, phlebotomy, specimen processing, and order entry.
  • Represent the organization in patient settings and act as liaison.
  • Support pre-analytical workflow and ensure specimen integrity.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • License/Certifications: PBT/MLA from the ASCP, AMT, or NHA preferred. Valid Driver's license required.
  • Experience: Technical training as a Phlebotomist through NorDx Phlebotomy School or an equivalent program required.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements Required: May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.

The pay range for this position is $19.87to $23.75 per hour.
