MaineHealth's Mid Coast Hospital is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Assistant I to join its Laboratory Support team.

In this role you perform pre-analytical tasks such as specimen collection, phlebotomy, processing and order entry, serving as a liaison in patient settings. The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus prorated for part-time positions, plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• License/Certifications: PBT/MLA from the ASCP, AMT, or NHA preferred.
• Experience: Technical training as a Phlebotomist through NorDx Phlebotomy School or equivalent program required.
• May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.

The Medical Laboratory Assistant I role represents the organization in all patient settings serving as a liaison and performs key pre-analytical functions, such as specimen collection, phlebotomy, specimen processing, and order entry.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• License/Certifications: PBT/MLA from the ASCP, AMT, or NHA preferred. Valid Driver's License may be required if role involves travel to other work sites/locations.
• Experience: Technical training as a Phlebotomist through NorDx Phlebotomy School or equivalent program required.
• Additional Skills/Requirements Required: May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.

The pay range for this position is $19.87to $23.75 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
