Qualifications

• Knowledge of general inventory principles, processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.
• Skill in the use of computer handhelds, wireless technology and standard communication devices.
• Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to practice proper body mechanics to ensure personal and customer/patient safety.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel, medical staff, volunteer and ancillary departments.
• Ability to safely operate all distribution equipment according to directions and departmental policy.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculation to adjust inventory levels appropriately.
• Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

• Conducts inventory, delivers linen and supplies to patient floors.
• Monitors stock rotation and expiration dates.
• Restocks medical trays, caddies, totes and carts to support clinical functions.
• Maintains documentation for inventory and billing.
• Communicates with departments to fill requests and answer supply questions.
• Initiates vendor orders for patient rental equipment and coordinates delivery/pickup.
• Sorts, prepares and distributes mail.
• Collects and processes patient charges and inventory data.
• Operates distribution equipment in accordance with policy.
