Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary seeks an interpreter to support patient and family communication in multiple languages. You will perform sight and written translations of materials, coordinate interpreters, and document encounters in the medical setting, ensuring ethical standards are followed and patient confidentiality is maintained.
The role includes assisting with appointment reminders and navigating hospital services.

Responsible for facilitating the successful delivery of services to patients and family members of various languages. Follows requests for interpretation, collaborating with qualified auxiliary interpreters for comprehensive accommodation of interpretation requests. Provides translation service (both sight translation & written translation) of pertinent materials for patients and families, such as written information regarding relevant services, pre-operative, post-operative, discharge instructions, patient and family education, and follow-up care materials.
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No
Healthcare and/or medical interpreting experience 2-3 years preferred
