Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a Department Support Assistant in Medical Imaging. This PRN, part-time role involves greeting patients, registering them, and coordinating with imaging staff to ensure smooth patient flow.

The candidate will handle administrative duties, operate office equipment, and assist with patient throughput while maintaining high accuracy in patient data and insurance information.

Qualifications

• Typing ability and basic computer skills.
• One-year administrative experience preferred.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three (3) months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and check in each patient.
• Complete patient registration as needed.
• Act as liaison for patients and families in the waiting room.
• Prioritize tasks and communicate with staff during hectic periods.
• Escort/transport patients as needed and manage inventory of office supplies.
