Responsibilities

• Collects patient insurance and payment information.
• Obtains signatures for admission and assignment of benefits.
• Enters diagnosis codes after patient assessment and treatment.
• Receives, balances, and accounts for payments; records charges for treatments, medications, and equipment usage.
• Maintains patient records and files in the charting system.
• Answers telephone and directs calls; handles physician office communications.
• Schedules referrals as appropriate.
• Maintains inventory of medical and office supplies.
• Participates in in-service programs and quality improvement activities.
• Coordinates patient care with health care team and maintains good public relations.
• Performs other duties as needed.
