Are you mechanically inclined with a knack for hands-on work? Do you enjoy a flexible schedule and working independently, but also have the support of a team? The Equipment Service Technician is a remote-based Customer facing employee, primarily working inside hospitals. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing medical equipment used in surgical procedures, as well as providing installation support on complex mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic units.

This role focuses on washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, steam generators, and related equipment. Ideal candidates have experience in HVAC repair, mechanics, maintenance, refrigeration, boilers, chillers, automotive repair, or similar fields. Candidates must be based in New York to support our customers in this territory.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment, systems, and components.
2. Manage time effectively by prioritizing customer and business needs to complete various service activities.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate issues and utilize technology platforms for compliance and troubleshooting.
4. Provide customers with information, pricing, and repair options; build relationships and identify sales opportunities.
5. Support various locations within the assigned territory based on service agreements and customer needs.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED with at least 6 years of progressive work experience, including 3 years in mechanical/technical roles.
• Successful completion of ESTII training and promotions.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet background and physical requirements for credentialing.
• Customer and team engagement experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to input data into multiple systems.
• Flexibility for schedules including potential overnight, early, or late hours.

Pay range: $62,250 - $87,150, plus commission. Pay is based on experience, education, and other factors.
