Overview and Responsibilities

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative to join our team. You will handle tasks related to patient information, service of durable medical equipment, respiratory products, and supplies, communicating with patients, co-workers, and referral sources concerning patient services and third-party reimbursement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with updating respiratory grid and check all paperwork for accuracy.
  • Communicate with patients and referral sources to address questions and concerns promptly.
  • Complete SOPs/CMNs and document on tracking logs.
  • Coordinate patient information, process paperwork for billing, and prepare batch reports for UPS deliveries.
  • Maintain referral logs and office supplies.
  • Prepare deposits, invoices, and process paperwork including new patient setups and chart assembly.
  • Provide service for retail/walk-in equipment requests and technical assistance to customers.
  • Verify insurance coverage and resolve customer issues with outside agencies.
  • May be required to cover on-call duties, drive a company vehicle, and make home deliveries.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred experience with medical equipment, billing, or in the medical field.
  • One year of related work experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record if driving is required.
Skills and Competencies
  • Accurate mathematical skills and effective communication.
  • Ability to interpret various communications and maintain confidentiality.
  • Multi-tasking, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Demands and Equipment

Must lift and carry equipment (minimum 35 pounds), potentially make deliveries, and interact with patients and equipment, with exposure to contagious pathogens. Requires sitting, standing, walking, and close vision.
