Medical Equipment Customer Service Representative

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative to join our team. This role involves handling all tasks and communication related to patient information intake concerning durable medical equipment and respiratory products, coordinating with patients, clients, co-workers, and referral sources to ensure quality patient services and third-party reimbursement.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with updating respiratory grid and check all paperwork for accuracy
  • Communicate with patients and referral sources to address questions and concerns
  • Complete SOPs/CMNs and document on tracking logs
  • Coordinate patient information, process paperwork for billing, and prepare batch reports
  • Maintain referral logs, monitor office supplies, and prepare deposits and invoices
  • Process paperwork, confirm tickets, input new patient setups, and assemble charts
  • Provide service for retail and walk-in equipment requests, and offer technical assistance
  • Verify insurance coverage and work with outside agencies to resolve issues
  • May be required to cover on call, drive a company vehicle, and make home deliveries
  • Ensure predictable attendance and work cooperatively with others
  • Handle multiple tasks efficiently and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Employment is contingent upon background checks, drug screening, and a valid driver’s license where applicable. A high school diploma or GED is required. Preferred qualifications include experience with medical equipment, billing, and the medical field, along with knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Exposure to contagious pathogens, sitting, walking, standing, and visual acuity for small print
