Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative to join our team. You will handle all tasks and communication related to patient information intake concerning durable medical equipment and respiratory products and supplies, coordinating with patients, co-workers, and referral sources regarding patient services and third-party reimbursement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with updating respiratory grid.
  • Clear previous day's route and verify all paperwork for accuracy.
  • Communicate with patients and referral sources promptly and effectively.
  • Complete SOPs/CMNs and document on tracking logs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Coordinate patient information, process paperwork for billing, and prepare batch reports.
  • Maintain referral logs and monitor office supplies.
  • Prepare deposits, invoices, and manage paperwork including new patient setups and chart assembly.
  • Provide customer service for retail/walk-in equipment requests and technical assistance.
  • Verify insurance coverage and work with outside agencies to resolve issues.
  • May be required to cover on-call duties, drive a company vehicle, and deliver to patients’ homes.
  • Maintain regular attendance and work cooperatively with others.
  • Handle multiple tasks efficiently and politely interact with patients and referral sources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Employment is contingent upon background checks, drug screening, and a valid driver’s license with a clean record (if applicable).

Required Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with medical equipment, billing, or in the medical field.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and administrative record management.
  • At least one year of related work experience preferred.

  • Proficiency with email, internet research, Microsoft Office, and office equipment.

Physical Demands

  • Lifting office and patient equipment (up to 35 pounds).
  • May involve driving, delivering, and exposure to pathogens.
  • Requires sitting, standing, walking, and visual acuity for small print.
