Job summary

Highmark Inc. is seeking a skilled data analytics professional to transform large medical cost datasets into strategic insights. You will use SAS, SQL, and BI tools to identify cost drivers and value opportunities across programs, and communicate findings to executives with clarity.

The role requires a strong coding background, a track record in healthcare analytics, and excellent storytelling in data-driven presentations. Bachelor's degree is required; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health, Economics, Mathematics/Actuarial Sciences or related field.
• 5 years of Medical Economics, Healthcare Analytics, Informatics and/or Actuarial Services in healthcare payer sector.
• Strong coding background (R, R Shiny, Python, SQL). Experience building dashboards in Tableau, Power BI, or R Shiny.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic insights into emerging medical cost trends.
• Develop executive-ready presentations explaining analytical findings clearly.
• Extract, summarize, and analyze large datasets via SAS, SQL or other tools.
• Provide opportunity assessments of strategic medical cost programs.
• Coordinate savings projections and post-implementation savings measurements.
• Develop improved business case and savings estimation capabilities.
• Present analytics and insights to key business partners.
• Work in a matrixed environment and collaborate with other departments.
• Other duties as assigned.
