Job summary

Brown University Health Fall River in Fall River, MA, seeks an experienced dosimetrist/RT to plan and verify treatment for conventional radiotherapy, IMRT, and brachytherapy. You will interact with physicians to ensure accurate directives and maintain precise documentation.

The role involves simulations, dosimetry calculations, isodose planning, and assisting in QA, chart checks, and patient safety. CMD certification and board eligibility are preferred, with minimum AS degree required.

Qualifications

• AS degree in health/physical sciences or equivalent.
• BA degree in health/physical sciences or equivalent preferred.
• CMD certification preferred.
• Eligibility for board certification is a requirement.
• Experience with dosimetry and treatment planning concepts in external beam and brachytherapy.

Responsibilities

• Contours patient, obtains separations, evaluates CT images and verifies data for simulator coverage.
• Performs dose calculations using correct factors and provides isodose distributions.
• Assists physicians to optimize IMRT treatment plans and solve setup difficulties.
• Performs machine quality assurance and weekly chart checks.
• Handles radioactive materials following ALARA and regulatory guidelines.
