Job summary

Frontier Direct Care is seeking a Medical Director (MD/DO) to lead clinical teams in delivering high-quality, compassionate care in Texas. You will oversee operations, mentor providers, and collaborate with leadership to optimize workflows and ensure compliance.

The role emphasizes building strong teams, maintaining patient-first care, and driving continuous improvements across the clinic network. Texas licensure and DEA registration are required.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with Texas license
• Board certification in Family Medicine
• 3–5 years of experience in a family practice or primary care setting
• Active DEA registration, or ability to obtain within 30 days
• Demonstrated leadership experience—mentoring a team or managing a clinic
• Working knowledge of healthcare compliance, patient safety, and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with care: manage a split patient panel with a Lead PCP to ensure continuity and quality.

• Shape the practice: work with the Chief Medical Officer to fine-tune workflows and a sustainable care model.
• Oversee operations: manage daily clinic needs, including budget, inventory and staff coordination.
• Foster a connected culture: lead weekly team meetings for open dialogue and shared problem-solving.
• Maintain high standards: ensure care aligns with state/federal regs and internal standards.

Requirements

What You Bring

• MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in Texas
• Board certification in Family Medicine
• 3-5 years of experience in a family practice or primary care setting
• Active DEA registration, or ability to obtain within 30 days
• Demonstrated leadership experience—whether mentoring a small team or managing a clinic
• A working knowledge of healthcare compliance, patient safety, and regulatory requirements
• A genuine passion for relationship-based care and a desire to lead by example
