Job summary

Frontier Direct Care is expanding its direct primary care clinics in Mesquite and Arlington, TX, seeking a Medical Director (MD/DO) to lead clinical teams and shape a sustainable care model. You will oversee operations, ensure high-quality, relationship-based care, and drive continuous improvement in collaboration with the CMO and leadership team.

The role requires active Texas medical licensure, board certification in Family Medicine, and 3–5 years in family practice, with DEA registration.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with Texas license and board-certified in Family Medicine.
• 3–5 years in family practice or primary care.
• DEA registration active.
• Proven leadership and ability to mentor teams.
• Knowledge of healthcare compliance and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead with compassion and guide clinical teams to deliver unrushed care to Frontier members.
• Provide clinical oversight, coaching, and ongoing training to providers and nurse manager.
• Manage a split patient panel with a Lead PCP to ensure continuity and quality.
• Hire and retain providers who share commitment to patient-first care.
• Work with CMO to fine-tune workflows and build a sustainable care model.
• Oversee daily clinic operations including budget, inventory, and staff coordination.
• Lead weekly team meetings to foster open dialogue and problem-solving.
• Ensure care delivery complies with state/federal regulations and internal standards.
• Provide quarterly feedback to teams and support initiatives to improve care quality.

What You’ll Do

• Foster a connected culture: Lead weekly team meetings that encourage open dialogue, innovation, and shared problem-solving.
• Maintain high standards: Ensure that all care is delivered in accordance with state and federal compliance, safety regulations, and our internal standards of excellence.
• Drive improvement: Provide quarterly feedback to your team and support ongoing initiatives to strengthen the quality of care and team experience.

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in Texas
• Board certification in Family Medicine
• 3-5 years of experience in a family practice or primary care setting
• Active DEA registration
• Demonstrated leadership experience—whether mentoring a small team or managing a clinic
• A working knowledge of healthcare compliance, patient safety, and regulatory requirements
• A genuine passion for relationship-based care and a desire to lead by example
