Job summary

Frontier Direct Care is expanding our direct primary care clinics to include several Texas locations. We are seeking a Medical Director (MD/DO) to lead clinical teams, deliver compassionate, high-quality care, and support an ambitious patient-first care model.

You will provide clinical oversight, mentor providers, shape workflows with the CMO, manage clinic operations and budgets, and foster a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in Texas.
• Board certification in Family Medicine.
• 3–5 years of experience in a family practice or primary care setting.
• Active DEA registration.

Responsibilities

• Lead with compassion: guide and support clinical teams delivering comprehensive care.
• Mentor and support: provide clinical oversight and training to providers and nurse manager.
• Collaborate with care: manage a split patient panel with a Lead PCP for continuity and quality.
• Hire and retain providers aligned with integrity and patient-first care.
• Shape the practice: work with the Chief Medical Officer to fine-tune workflows and build a sustainable care model.
• Oversee operations: manage daily clinic needs, including budget, inventory, and staff coordination.
• Foster a connected culture: lead weekly team meetings for open dialogue and problem-solving.
• Maintain high standards: ensure care complies with state/federal regulations and internal standards.
• Drive improvement: provide quarterly feedback and support quality initiatives.

What You’ll Do

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in Texas
• Board certification in Family Medicine
• 3-5 years of experience in a family practice or primary care setting
• Active DEA registrationDemonstrated leadership experience—whether mentoring a small team or managing a clinic
• A working knowledge of healthcare compliance, patient safety, and regulatory requirements
• A genuine passion for relationship-based care and a desire to lead by example
