Job summary

Disc Medicine is actively seeking a Medical Director, Clinical Development to provide medical leadership across design, execution, and interpretation of clinical programs. This role collaborates with Clinical Science, Regulatory, Biostatistics, and other functions to advance therapies from early development through regulatory evaluation.

The candidate will oversee trials, shape development strategy, interpret emerging data, and support regulatory communications, with a focus on iron metabolism

Qualifications

• MD/DO or MD/PhD degree.
• Board certification/eligibility in hematology/oncology, hematology, oncology, internal medicine, or related field preferred.
• Fellowship training in a relevant field strongly preferred.
• 3–5+ years of relevant clinical research and/or clinical development experience in biopharma, pharma, CRO, academia, or clinical research.
• Demonstrated experience designing, executing, overseeing, or interpreting clinical trials, with increasing study-level responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and strategic leadership for assigned programs and studies.
• Develop and execute clinical development plans with cross-functional teams.
• Provide medical input into protocols, ICH documents, and regulatory submissions.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on disease biology and treatment paradigms.
• Interpret data to inform development strategy and decisions.
• Build relationships with investigators and external experts and support scientific activities.
• Serve as Study Physician and Medical Monitor for trials and ensure patient safety and data quality.
• Contribute to trial design, eligibility criteria, endpoints, and monitoring strategies.
• Review safety data, protocol deviations, and emerging data.
• Support regulatory submissions and health authority interactions.
