Job summary

Devereux Georgia is seeking a Medical Director to lead psychiatric services for a residential treatment program serving youth with complex behavioral health needs. This leadership role will oversee psychiatric, clinical, nursing and medical services while mentoring senior clinical staff.

You will drive treatment planning, do admissions reviews, and advance evidence-based practices including PBIS and DBT, collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams to achieve outstanding client

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board-Eligible Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist with current Georgia Licensure.
  • Minimum of five years experience in a health care, human service, or education setting.
  • Ability to collaborate, lead teams, provide direction and integrate inter-disciplinary treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and strengthen clinical teaming and case review processes, enhance outcomes and predictive analytics, and implement evidence-based practices including PBIS and DBT.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of psychiatric, clinical, nursing, and medical services.
  • Directly supervise the Director of Nursing and Clinical Director.
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning.
  • Review admissions, treatment plans, and discharge recommendations.
  • Collaborate with families, guardians, referral sources, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional client outcomes.
  • Lead quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management initiatives.
  • Develop and advance innovative treatment programs for youth with complex behavioral health needs.
  • Participate in physician on-call responsibilities and provide clinical consultation as needed.

In This Role, You Will:
  • Initially focus on evaluating and strengthening clinical teaming and case review processes, enhancing outcomes and predictive analytics, and implementing evidence-based practices, including Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Provide leadership and oversight of psychiatric, clinical, nursing, and medical services.
  • Directly supervise the Director of Nursing and Clinical Director.
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning.
  • Review admissions, treatment plans, and discharge recommendations.
  • Collaborate with families, guardians, referral sources, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional client outcomes.
  • Lead quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management initiatives.

Qualifications
