Job summary

Devereux Georgia is seeking a mission-driven Medical Director to lead psychiatric services for a residential program serving vulnerable youth with complex behavioral health needs. This role combines clinical expertise, strategic leadership, and program innovation to improve treatment outcomes and ensure high standards of care.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams, and drive quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across the service line.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board-Eligible Child & Adolescents Psychiatrist with current Georgia Licensure.
• Minimum of five years experience, preferably in healthcare, human services, or education settings, in a position-related function.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and strengthen clinical teaming and case review processes, enhancing outcomes and predictive analytics, and implementing evidence-based practices (PBIS/DBT).
• Provide leadership and oversight of psychiatric, clinical, nursing, and medical services.
• Directly supervise the Director of Nursing and Clinical Director.
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning.
• Review admissions, treatment plans, and discharge recommendations.
• Collaborate with families, guardians, referral sources, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure client outcomes.
• Lead quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management initiatives.
• Develop and advance innovative treatment programs for youth with complex behavioral health needs.
• Participate in physician on-call responsibilities and provide clinical consultation as needed.
• Serve as a key member of the Georgia leadership team shaping behavioral healthcare at Devereux Georgia.

In This Role, You Will

• Provide leadership and oversight of psychiatric, clinical, nursing, and medical services.

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning.
• Review admissions, treatment plans, and discharge recommendations.
